What is the meaning of Bahubali?

Bahubali is Telugu Movie. But the name Bahubali you won't here normally on telugu land. In telugu bahu means bhujam (arm). Bali means sacrificing an animal for a god. Rajmouli derived the word from sanskrit. In sanskrit bahu means arm. Bali means strong man. In simple words bahubali means a man with a strong arms.
In Sravanabelgola (Karnataka), there is a Jain God Bahubali Gomateswara. Probably Rajamouli inspired by this God. Rajamouli hails from West Godavari in Andhra Pradesh. In search of greener pastures his family went to Karanataka. By this Rajamouli came to know about Bahubali in detail.
In Jainism, Bahubali is the son of First Tirthankara. Sravanabelagola was one of the areas where Jainism flourished.
